Multi touch histoy

Do you think Apple was the first to introduce multi-touch interface?! Wrong!!! They [Apple] were just the first to successfully introduce technology to mass market.

History goes as far as 1982 when University of Toronto developed the first finger pressure multi-touch display.

There were bunch of academic research and some attempts to commercialize the technology... But none of them really succeed until in 2005 Apple bought Fingerworks

In 2007 apple released iPhone.

But, before that.... probably the very first public appearance of multi-touch technology is the presentation of Jeff Han at TED 2006.

Windows Mobile on iPhone

There is a video going around an Internet right now, demonstrating 'beta' version of boot camp for iPhone, allowing you to run either iPhone Mac OS X or Windows Mobile on the iPhone.

The claim is that some 15yo Norwegian student did it.

There are bunch of debunking of this video out there as well: Windows Mobile on iPhone Is A Hoax- the guys from GearLog examined the event where video was supposedly shot... myphone2008 Well... there was no such event at all.

I'll just add my two cents: check the other videos "shot on the same event" - calculating calories based on iPhone photo, iPhone-based metal detector?!

Fake... But a good one though!

Sonic Emotion found an innovative way to advertise their product. Though that one makes me think if they are for real too.

iPhone crash test - Russian style

Guys, you'll like that one:

Russians are testing iPhone by putting it in a freezer, running over by car and drowning in the pitcher of beer.

For those who don't speak Russian - quick results test:

Freezing overnight (well. Russia is a cold country) - Passed.

After thawing worked good as new.

Dropping from 1m/3ft and 1.6m/5ft onto concrete floor - Passed...
Washer - passed...
Dust+sand, running over by car, drowning in beer - read on English translation
